ADVOCACY - WHAT ARE THE CORE ISSUES?

Working in concert with the Canadian Dermatology Association, the goal of the Canadian Skin Patient Alliance (CSPA) is to raise awareness at Health Canada and provincial/territorial ministries of health about these diseases and their impact on Canadians. A list of core issues would likely include training and recruiting more dermatologists, increasing dermatological research, and improving access to treatment and medications. The centre of operations for the Alliance will be a website that educates and informs members about the politics of health-care, providing them with key messages and the wherewithal to communicate those messages to decision-makers. our strategy is to identify a core group of people with skin disease who can articulate the needs of their community.
