Galderma Canada, founded in 1991, is the Canadian subsidiary of a global, research-based pharmaceutical company. Canadian headquarters are located in Thornhill, Ontario. Galderma Canada markets innovative prescription and non-prescription dermatological products across the country.

The therapeutic focus of the company lies in dermatology, with key products marketed in Canada to treat acne, rosacea, eczema, seborrheic dermatitis, and sensitive dry skin.

Anti-acne products represent a significant segment of the company's product line. Differin® is the first of a new generation of retinoid molecules for the treatment of acne, available by prescription only. Other key products include therapies for rosacea (MetroGel®, MetroCream®, and MetroLotionTM, the most commonly prescribed treatment for rosacea); Cetaphil® a skin care line of cleansers and moisturizers specially formulated for sensitive skin.

New this year to the Galderma portfolio is PR ClobexTM Shampoo, the first prescription super high potency steroid (clobetasol proprionate 0.05%) to be offered in a shampoo format to treat scalp psoriasis.  Cetaphil Therapeutic Barrier Cream with shea butter also debuted in January 2005, for use in chronic dry skin areas such as hands, rough elbows and cracked feet.  This new cream contains high concentrations of glycerin and dimethicone to enhance moisturization.

Galderma is recognized as having the world's largest research and development program dedicated to dermatology and holds more than 500 patents world-wide.

The company's manufacturing plant, which opened for production in January of 2001, will help Galderma's quest to lead its market. The 13,500 square meter plant, located in Baie d'Urfé, on the West Island of Montreal, produces topical dermatological products for the North American market.

The company has 34 subsidiaries in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, North America, Latin America, Australasia and Japan.
