A NEW CME CONCEPT IN DERMATOLOGY Jason Rivers, Kevin Smith and Lynne Bulger Access to dermatologists has decreased in many regions of Canada over the past five years. Several factors have contributed to this situation including retirement, relocation of dermatologists out of the country, reduced number of residents and changes in practice from medical to procedure based dermatology. Consequently, physicians in general and family practice are seeing more patients with diseases such as acne. An innovative CME program was developed to provide these physicians with the expertise to diagnose and effectively treat patients with acne vulgaris. This program has been accredited by the Canadian College of Family Practice with MainPro C certification. |
